head-worn controller for smart devices
hci research, user studies
SUMMARY My research group designed and evaluated a system named HOBS (Head Orientation Based Selection) for interacting with smart devices at a distance. We augmented a commercial wearable device, Google Glass, with an infrared (IR) emitter to select targets equipped with IR receivers. collaborators Ben Zhang, Yu-Hsiang Chen, Achal Dave, Yang Li , Edward Lee , Bjorn Hartmann
ROLE For this project, I created and fabricated several 3d parts using solidworks. I also facilitated a two-part, 14-participant user study and helped present the work at O'Reilly Solid Con and the ACM Symposium on Spatial User Interaction.
